"So GOD created man in HIS own image, in the image of GOD created HE him; male and female created HE them; and GOD blessed them and GOD said unto them, 'be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the fowl of the air and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth." Genesis 1:27-28
GOD told them how to live and what to do
"And THE LORD GOD planted a garden eastward in Eden, and there HE put the man whom HE had formed. And out of the ground made THE LORD GOD to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight; and good for food, the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil. . . And THE LORD GOD commanded the man saying, 'of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil thou shalt not eat of it; for in the day that thou shalt eat of it, thou shalt surely die." Genesis 8-9, and 16-17

"Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which GOD had made. And he said unto the woman, 'yea? hath GOD said 'ye shall not eat of the of every tree of the garden?" And the woman said, ' we may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, GOD hath said, 'ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die." And the serpent said unto the woman, 'ye shall not surely die? For GOD knoweth that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened and ye shall be as gods; knowing good and evil.' And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her and he did eat." Genesis 3: 1-6
GOD punished them
"And THE LORD GOD said unto the serpent, because ye have done this, thou art cursed above all cattle and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go,and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life; and I will put enmity between thee and the woman and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel." Unto the woman, HE said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to to thy husband and he shall rule over thee.' and unto Adam, HE said, 'because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee saying,'thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; thorns and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat of the herb of the field. In the sweat of thy brow shalt thou eat bread; till thou return unto the ground; for out if wast thou taken; for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return. " Genesis 3:14-19
GOD realized humans are wicked
'And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of of this heart was only evil continually. And it repented THE LORD that HE had made man on the earth; and it grieved him at HIS heart. And THE LORD said, ' I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man and beast, and the creeping thing and the fowls of the air for it repenteth ME that I have made them. But Noah found grace in the eyes of THE LORD." Genesis 6: 6-8
GOD sends a flood to destroy all human life except Noah and his family
"And behold I even I do bring a flood upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life from under heaven, and every thing that is in the earth shall die. But with thee [to Noah] will I establish MY Covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou and thy sons and thy wife; and the son's wives with thee." Genesis 6: 17-18

Go let us go down and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech. So THE LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth; and they left off to build the city." Genesis 11: 1, 6,7,8
GOD saw Abram and was pleased with him
"Now THE LORD had said unto Abram, 'get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred; and from thy father's house unto a land that I will shew thee; and I will make of thee a great nation and I will bless thee and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing. And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee; and in thee shall all the families of the earth be blessed." Genesis 12: 1-3
GOD changed Abram's name to Abraham
"And Abram fell on his face and GOD talked with him saying, 'as for ME behold MY Covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations;' neither shall thy name any more be called 'Abram" but thy name shall be called Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee." Genesis 17:3-5
GOD decides to tell Abraham of HIS plan to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah
"And THE LORD said, 'shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do? Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him? For I know him that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of THE LORD, to do justice and Judgement that THE LORD may bring upon Abraham that which HE hath spoken of him. And THE LORD said, 'because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous; I will go down now and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto ME; and if not, I will know'. And the men turned their faces from thence and went toward Sodom but Abraham stood yet before THE LORD. And Abraham drew near and said, 'wilt
THOU also destroy the righteous with the wicked? . .. that be far from THEE to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked; and that the righteous should be [treated] as the wicked; that be far from thee. Shall not THE JUDGE of all the earth, do right?" Genesis 18:17-23,25
GOD destroys Sodom and Gomorrah for sins
"Then THE LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from THE LORD out of heaven; and HE overthrew those cities and all the plains and that which grew upon the ground. But his [Lot's] wife looked back from behind him and she became a pillar of salt. And Abraham got up early in the morning to the place where he stood before THE LORD. And he looked toward Sodom and Gomorrah, and toward all the land of the plain of beheld, and lo, the smoke of the country went up as smoke of a furnace. And it came to pass when GOD destroyed the cities of the plain, that GOD remembered Abraham. . . " Genesis 19:24-29a
GOD tests Abraham

GOD sends a famine of seven years
"And the seven years of dearth began to come according to all Joseph had said, and the dearth was in all lands; but in all the land of Egypt there was bread. And when all the land of Egypt was famished, the people cried to Phar-oah for bread; and Pharoah said unto all the Egyptians 'go unto Joseph; what he saith to you, do' .And the famine was over all the face of the earth; and Joseph opened the storehouses and sold unto the Egyptians and the famine waxed sore in the land of Egypt. And HE said, "I AM GOD,THE GOD of thy father; fear not to go down into Egypt, for I will there make of thee a great nation. I will go down with thee into Egypt, and I will also surely bring thee up again; and Joseph shall put his hand upon thine eyes." Genesis 46:1-3
GOD sent famine again
"And when money failed in the land of Egypt, and in the land of Ca-na-an all the Egyptians came unto Joseph and said,'give us bread; for why should we die in thy presence? for the money faileth. And Joseph said, 'give your cattle, and I will give you for your cattle, if money fail. And they brought their cattle unto Joseph; and Joseph gave them bread in exchange for their horses, and for flocks, and for the cattle of the herds, and for the donkeys, and he fed them with bread for all their cattle that year." Genesis 47:15-17
GOD caused Israel to prosper invoking the King's wrath and King retaliated
"And the children of Israel were fruitful and increased abundantly, and multiplied and waxed exceeding mighty; and the land was filled with them. Now there arose a new King over Egypt, which knew not Joseph. And he said unto his people, 'behold, the people of the children of Israel are more and mightier than we; come on, let us deal wisely with them, lest they multiply and it come to pass that, when there falleth out any war, they join also unto our enemies and fight against us, and so get them up out of the land.' Therefore they did set over them taskmasters to afflict them and their burdens. . . but the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and grew. And they were grieved because of the children of Israel. And the Egyptians made the children of Israel to serve with rigour. And they made their lives bitter with hard bondage, in mortar, and in brick and in all manner of service in the field, wherein they made them serve, was with rigour. And the King of Egypt spake to the Hebrew midwives of which the name of one was Shiph-rah, and the name of the other Pu-ah; and he said, 'when ye do the office of a midwife to the Hebrew women, and see them upon the stools it it be a son, then ye shall kill him; but if it be a daughter, then she shall live. "Exodus 1:7-16
GOD caused the midwives to fear HIM instead of the King of Egypt.

And The Angel of THE LORD appeared unto him, in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush; and he looked, and behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed. And Moses said, ' I will now turn aside and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt.' And when THE LORD saw that he turned aside to see, GOD called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, 'Moses, Moses' and he said,"here am I.' And HE said,'draw not nigh hither; put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is Holy ground. ' Moreover HE said, " I AM THE GOD of thy father, THE GOD of Abraham, THE GOD of Isaac, and THE GOD of Jacob". And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look upon GOD. And THE LORD said, "I have surely seen the affliction of MY people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows. And I AM come to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large; unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Ca-na-an-ites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Pe-riz-zites, and the Hivites, and the Jeb-u-sites. Now therefore behold, the cry of the children of Israel is come unto ME, and I have also seen the oppression wherewith the Egyptians oppress them. Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Phar-aoh, that thou mayest bring forth MY people, the children of Israel out of Egypt. And Moses said unto GOD, 'who am I that I should go unto Phar-aoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt?" And HE said,"surely I will be with thee; and this shall be a token unto thee; and that I have sent thee: when thou hast brought forth the people out of Egypt, ye shall serve GOD upon this mountain'. And Moses said unto GOD, 'behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, 'THE GOD of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say, 'what is HIS NAME?' What shall I say unto them?' And GOD said unto Moses, "I AM THAT I AM; and HE said, thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, " I AM hath sent me unto you." Exodus 3:1-14
